Natural heads becoming more mainstream!

Today I met some of my girlfriends for brunch (my favorite meal!). There were seven of us, inevitably, when you get a group of black women together the conversation moves to the topic of hair. Come to find out, four out of the seven of us were natural or transitioning!

How did that happen!? Two or three years ago, if you were natural, you got looked at sideways most of the time. At least here in Texas anyway. Now you see a table like ours today at the restaurant.

The next time I am feeling down and frustrated about my hair, I am going to remember this day! Seeing so many beautiful natural heads makes me smile!

It does seem like it's becoming more prevalent, right? I don't remember this in high school, or even college.

I think now that the magazines are taking note of natural hair blogs, sites, Youtube channels, Good Hair, Tyra's "Real Hair Day" (side-eye at Tyra), they are reflecting that back to us, and more women are seeing natural hair as a good thing.

I am loving this!

BTW, I hope you get all the encouragement you need. Have you seen Rustic Beauty on Youtube? Her hair was short and relaxed. She went natural and now her hair is a beast with all that length and thickness!

Where is your "Follower" application?

Nope I have not seen her but I will definitely look her up! Thanks for the tip.

I just added the Follower App back... I took it down b/c I only had one little follower... it depressed me! LOL
